What does a High Tea include?
Petit Fours High Tea will arrive at your door with everything you need to experience a restaurant quality high tea at home from the crisp linen tablecloths to the fresh flowers and everything else to fill the table. The only thing you need to provide is access to your kitchen, alcohol if you plan on serving it (we bring the glasses, ice and ice bucket) and a dining table and chairs. Don't worry if your table isn't big enough. We can hire additional tables and chairs for a small fee. Please refer to our High Tea tab for more information about exactly what is included as part of your high tea package.
Do you offer anything other than high tea?
If high tea is not your thing, we also offer dessert buffet bars. Please refer to our Dessert Bars tab for more information.
Are there limits on where I can hold my event?
High Tea can be served "sit down" or "buffet" style at your own home, garden, office or venue of choice.
Our staff do however need access to a clean kitchen or food preparation area with hot and cold
running water and at least 2 power points. If you do have your heart set on an outdoor location,
you will need an undercover or indoor wet weather option.
Keep in mind also that in the hot summer months, high tea is best served indoors in a cool sheltered area away from the direct heat of the sun and flies.
Do your high tea provide tea bags or loose leaf tea?
We have both available. Your guests get to choose from our extensive menu of over 35 teas. Each guests receives their own individual teapot and are welcome to as many refills as they desire.
What if my guests don't drink tea?
We do bring coffee and hot chocolate with us for the "non-traditionalists." We also offer 6 litre drink dispensers filled with iced tea, soft drink or punch for and additional fee of $35 per dispenser.
What if my guests have special dietary requirements?
If you require a separate plate to be made for a particular guest there is an additional fee of $10 per plate and we will require at least one weeks notice to prepare those meals. Please note however that all food is prepared in our kitchen which also processes wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts and meat.
What if my dining table is not big enough for all my guests?
If you have a large number of guests we recommend high tea be served "buffet style". If you prefer a "sit down" option, we are happy to arrange for extra tables and chairs at an additional cost. Please refer to the Additional Extras tab.
Can you help with styling the venue?
Absolutely. Please refer to our Additional Extras tab for what we can offer. We also have many great industry contacts to help you find exactly what you need.
Can alcohol be served at my party?
Yes of course we are very happy to serve your alcohol but we are unable to supply it for you. Petit Fours High Tea staff are RSA certified but we do not hold a liquor licence in order to supply the alcohol for your event.
Is all your china vintage?
If you look through our Image Gallery, you will see we have an eclectic mix of vintage and modern fine china. Most of our china is from the Australian designer, Cristina Re's range and tied together with a common pink theme but we can do just white, white and blue or pastel themed table settings. We do not stock Royal Albert, Royal Doulton or Wedgwood china in an attempt to keep our cost to you affordable but we do guarantee a luxurious looking table.
What if I'm having a baby shower for a boy?
Although most of our teaware is pink, we do have a number of pale blue cups and saucers. Blue can also be easily incorporated into the table setting with food styling, table runners, napkins and flowers. We also have a lovely range of white and gold teaware.
What area do you service?
We service Newcastle and Lake Macquarie in NSW, Australia.
Is there a delivery fee?
Delivery is free within a 25 km radius from Warners Bay Post Office. There is a travel fee of $2 per km each way based on the full distance from Warners Bay Post Office to your location for any events outside the free delivery radius. This fee is applied for both drop off and collection if two separate trips are required. Large events requiring more that one delivery vehicle, may attract a multi vehicle charge. Google Maps is used to calculate the distance. Please email us if you would like a quote for travel costs.
How do I book?
You can call 0403 508 358 to make a booking or fill in our On-Line Inquiry Form in our "Contacts" tab. If your preferred date is available, we will happily provide you with a quote. Quotes are valid for 14 days and a small deposit is required to secure your booking. Confirmation of final numbers is due one week prior to your function and the balance of payment is due 4 days prior to your function.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Please book as early as possible as weekends and popular dates fill up quickly and we don't want to disappoint you. We take bookings up to 12 months in advance.
How do I pay?
Payment options are included on our invoice. We accept Electronic Bank Transfer, Cash or Cheque.
What happens if I accidentally break something?
We understand that accidents do happen. In the unlikely event that a loss or damage to any of our equipment occurs, you will be invoiced for the replacement cost of the missing or damaged items. Replacement cost is based on the recommended retail price for the item.
What if my final guest numbers change?
Final numbers are to be confirmed one week prior to the event. We can accommodate minor increases in numbers, but if any guests drop out in the week prior to the function, unfortunately no refunds can be given - but you will have leftovers to enjoy later.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests?
We can cater for any size group up to 100, however there is a minimum charge equivalent to the cost of 8 guests for high tea, 10 guests for children's high tea or dessert tables and 15 guests for a dessert bar. The minimum charge for each package is:
High Tea: $480
Children's Party: $450
Buffet Dessert Table: $420
What is the cancellations policy?
We understand that unexpected things sometimes happen. You may cancel up to one week before the event and receive a full refund of your deposit. If you cancel with less than a weeks notice, you will forfeit your deposit.
